About Me

I am a Registered and Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

I decided to become a qualified counsellor, having spent many years in teaching and management, including coaching. My current management role involves supporting people with a range of mental health and neurodiverse conditions.

I know what it feels like going to new places, meeting new people, and I use my self-awareness to think about new clients starting counselling, to help you to feel safe and secure in our space together.

My core values are honesty, trust, loyalty and kindness, together with mutual respect and creativity, and I bring these values to the therapeutic relationship.

I value each person that comes to counselling. Everyone is an individual with different needs and values, and I can help you to explore the issues you may have without judgement.

Hobbies

I'm passionate about gardening and connecting with nature. I believe that being in the outdoors provides great support for your mental and physical health.

The outdoors is an opportunity for switching off the auto pilot and becoming present-mind focussed, absorbed in nature.

There are many ways in which you can connect with the environment once you have found the right stimulation that works for you. For me this is walking, gardening, sitting under the trees, listening to birdsong, picking up leaves, feeling the earth beneath my feet, walking in the rain....... The list is endless!

I also love photography, mindfulness, therapeutic journaling and a variety of creative crafts. I find it is good to get absorbed in these activities, and there is always something new to learn or discover in the process!
